Lesley Ann Hartman with a Persian Leopard Cub
Lesley Ann Hartman

Lesley lives and works in Essex in the U.K.  Ever since she can remember she wanted to draw animals.  Most of her spare time as a child was taken up with riding lessons and drawing.  As she grew older she became especially interested in dressage and showing and was fortunate enough to show horses up to and including International level, ridden and in-hand.

Building on years of studying and drawing,  Lesley became professional and began to do commission work, of all animals, but especially her first love the Arabian horse.

Acceptance for the annual Exhibition of the Society of Equestrian Artists in London was a major boost in Lesley's  career, and she was very honoured to be presented with an award for a pastel study of the beautiful stallion 'Kazmierek'. This pastel was shown on Channel Four Television to help promote the prestigious Exhibition and was subsequently put out as a print.

Many commissions followed,  through a London Agent,  from Middle Eastern Rulers and the British Aristocracy and lovers of the Arabian horse world-wide.    Pastels and oil paintings now hang in collections in Europe, America,  Hong Kong and Middle Eastern Palaces.

Lesley accepts  a limited amount of commission work every year.  If it is not possible to see the subject first-hand, she is able to work from a good quality close and clear photograph.

The paintings on this site are just a few of the many hundreds of  pastels and oils that have been completed .  To reserve a painting or commission a pastel please email Lesley

Judy Schrader at work.
Judy Schrader

Judy and her husband Terry live in the heart of the Allegheny National Forest in rural Pennsylvania.  They have two grown children, Terry Jr. and Kristi Dawn, of whom they are very proud.   She is also a volunteer for their small fire department where she has been an Emergency Medical Technician for 22 years.  Judy has always loved to draw and credits her artistic gift to her Grandfather, Ernest Albaugh.  An artist most of his life, he was self-taught and enjoyed giving paintings to his family and friends.  As a child, she would take her drawings to her Grandfather so he could help her with her work.

Judy began painting in 1978. Oil is her favourite medium although she works with acrylic, coloured pencil and mixed media.  She thinks that every painting  is a learning experience and hopefully feels she can grow from each one.

Judy's favourite subjects to paint are animals.  She loves bringing her canvas to life through the eyes and personality of the subjects she paints.  She enjoys painting pet portraits, wildlife, horses, dogs, cats, farm animals, country scenes, and barn scenes.  Living in the country, Judy has access to beautiful scenery and animals. The streams, trees, meadows, domestic and wild animals are such an inspiration for painting.  Judy takes her camera every time she goes for hikes in the woods. You never know what kind of animals you will see.  Unfortunately, most move too fast for her to get photos of, but she keeps trying!

Judy is a member of the Warren Art League. She has donated works of art for charity and has had paintings accepted to the Harness Tracks of America National Art show almost every year since 1981 and has received 2 special excellence awards from them.  Judy has shown in local and regional shows and has won many awards and several Best of Shows.  She has been invited to display and sell paintings at the prestigious Nature Art Festival in Jamestown, NY.  Judy has paintings with clients worldwide. From Mexico to Australia,  to England, Alaska and Canada, Judy's artwork is being enjoyed.

To reserve a painting or commission an oil painting  please email  Judy  Or contact her by Telephone: 814 968 3492.

She has illustrated 'The Orkney Bird Book' with over 50 full colour plates which will be published in December 2008.

In addition to her commissioned work, Tracy is an active member of Art Helping Animals, producing small paintings in her spare time to raise money for animal welfare charities.

"My job is a privilege and a constant learning curve - whatever the subject. I paint nature in all it's forms and the variety is fantastic and endlessly inspiring; I feel very lucky to cover so many aspects in my paintings. I have recently started to paint miniatures for pleasure and am rapidly becoming hooked. I work mainly in watercolour (both transparent and opaque) which is an incredibly versatile medium, whether I am working on fine fur and feathers or sweeping landscapes".  ~ Tracy Hall

Please email Tracy  if you would like to commission a painting.
